Financial Analyst I

Job Description:

EventSphere is looking for a detail-driven individual to join the team as a Financial Analyst.  The Financial Analyst I will be accountable for supporting the accounting and finance operations of the company. Duties will range from the monthly close process, preparing financial statements, evaluating budgets, monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable, and tracking information pertaining to company assets and income.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and organize financial data and reporting from Accounting and Operations departments
  • Compile and Analyze financial reports and find discrepancies that require senior management’s attention
  • Understand the general ledger and manage month end closing reports
  • Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for all active clients and events
  • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations
  • Determines the cost of operations by establishing standards; collecting operational data from multiple departments
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials
  • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis.
  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access)
  • Experience working in Sage
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow-through skills
  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately critical
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
